Minecraft server status
Show your Minecraft server live on Discord: status message, player counter in a channel name and an alert when it goes down.
The Minecraft module watches your Minecraft server – Java or Bedrock – and shows its status right on Discord. Your community sees at a glance whether the server is up and who is online. yurna checks every server you add every 5 minutes directly via the game protocol, without any plugin on your Minecraft server.
In the dashboard#
- In the dashboard sidebar, open Content & automations → Minecraft (
/dashboard/<server>/minecraft) and click Add server. - Choose the Edition (Java or Bedrock) and enter the Server address as in the game, e.g.
play.example.comorplay.example.com:25566. - Click Check – yurna shows right away whether the server responds, with player count and ping.
- Optionally enter a Display name (empty = address).
- Pick at least one output: Status message, Counter channel or Alert channel.
- Save. yurna updates within a minute.
Under Your servers you edit or delete added servers. With Watch you pause a server: no checks, no messages.
The three outputs#
- Status message: yurna posts a message in the chosen channel with status, address, edition, player count, version, ping, who is online right now and the player record. The message is edited continuously, not reposted. If it was deleted, yurna posts it again.
- Counter channel: a voice channel whose name shows the player count. The Channel name is a template with the placeholders
{spieler}(players),{max}and{status}(default:🟢 {spieler}/{max} online). When the server is offline, the leading 🟢 turns into 🔴. Discord only allows renaming rarely – yurna renames at most every 10 minutes and only when something has changed. - Alert channel: a message when the server goes down or comes back, optionally with Ping role. So that a single lost packet doesn't cause a false alarm, yurna only reports a change after 2 matching checks.
Good to know#
- Java uses SRV records, default port 25565. Bedrock uses port 19132 by default.
- Addresses in private or local networks (e.g.
192.168.…orlocalhost) are blocked for security reasons – also via/minecraft status. - If you change the address, the player record starts over.

How many Minecraft servers you can watch depends on your plan: New Moon 1, Half Moon 3, Full Moon 10. If a subscription ends, the most recently added servers above the limit rest until there is room again.
By command#
Everyone can use /minecraft status. /minecraft server needs "Manage Server". Options you leave out stay unchanged.
| Command | What it does | Key options |
|---|---|---|
/minecraft status | Shows a server's live status. Without an address: the servers added for this Discord server (up to 5) | address · edition: Java (default) or Bedrock |
/minecraft server add <name> <address> | Adds a server | edition · status-channel · counter-channel: voice channel as player counter · counter-template: name with {spieler} {max} (- = default) · alarm-channel · alarm-role · enabled |
/minecraft server edit <server> | Changes a server | as with add, plus name · address · clear: empty a field |
/minecraft server remove <server> | Removes a server | – |
/minecraft server list | Lists the added servers | – |
Common questions#
“No response” when checking – why?#
Is the server up, is the edition right and is the port reachable from outside? For Bedrock, UDP must be open.
“This address is in a private or local network” – what now?#
yurna only checks publicly reachable servers. Use your server's public address.
Why doesn't the counter channel change its name?#
yurna needs the Manage Channels permission there. Also keep the 10-minute pause in mind.
Why does the alert arrive late?#
That's intended: with checks every 5 minutes and 2 confirmations, a change can take up to about 10 minutes.
