Events with sign-up
Plan game nights and meetups: members join with a button, get a DM reminder, and the event also appears as a Discord event.
With events you plan game nights, tournaments or meetups with sign-up. yurna posts a sign-up message with buttons and a participant list, also creates a Discord event (your server's “Events” tab) and reminds everyone who signed up via DM before it starts.
In the dashboard#
- In the dashboard sidebar, open Community & events → Events (
/dashboard/<server>/events) and click Create event. - Enter Title, Date, Time, Duration and Time zone.
- Choose the Sign-up channel – the sign-up message with buttons is posted here.
- If you like, set a Voice channel, Location, Max participants, DM reminder, Role for attendees and Description.
- Click Create and post. The sign-up appears in the channel shortly.
Under Upcoming events you can Cancel an event or jump to the sign-up with Go to sign-up. Past events lists the finished ones.
Settings#
- Duration: 30 minutes to 6 hours. After that the event counts as over.
- Voice channel (optional): the Discord event is linked directly to this voice channel. Without one, yurna uses the Location or the link to the sign-up.
- Max participants: empty = unlimited.
- DM reminder: none, 15, 30, 60 or 120 minutes, or 24 hours before.
- Role for attendees (optional): everyone going gets the role; it's removed after the event.
How sign-up works#
Below the sign-up message there are the buttons Going, Maybe and Can’t go, plus 👥 for the full participant list. (The button labels follow your server's language.) The message keeps showing who is going and who might come.
- Once Max participants is reached, yurna accepts no further sign-ups (“Sorry, all spots are taken”).
- Everyone who is going or said “Maybe” gets a DM reminder with a link to the sign-up before the start.
- With a Role for attendees, everyone who is going gets the role. It's removed again on “Maybe” or “Can’t go”, and for everyone after the event (or when it's cancelled).
- After the end, the event is marked as over and the buttons are disabled.
Premium#
Premium
Events are free. The only limit is how many events can be scheduled at once: New Moon 5, Half Moon 25, Full Moon 100. Past and cancelled events don't count.
By command#
You can also create events right in Discord with /event. Members with "Manage Events" or "Manage Server" can create and cancel events; everyone can see the list.
| Command | What it does | Key options |
|---|---|---|
/event create | Creates a new event – without options through a form in the current channel | title · date (e.g. 2026-12-24 or 24.12.2026) · time (e.g. 19:30) · duration (minutes, default 120) · timezone · location · voice-channel · channel: channel for the sign-up · max-participants · reminder (minutes before, default 30) · role · image-url · description |
/event list | Shows upcoming events with a link to the sign-up | – |
/event cancel <event> | Cancels an event – everyone who signed up gets a DM | event: which event |
In the /event create form you enter the time as DD.MM.YYYY HH:MM (for example 24.10.2026 20:00), plus an optional location, max participants and description. Events created through the form use the Europe/Berlin time zone and remind 30 minutes before.
Common questions#
yurna says “I don’t understand that date” – what now?#
Use the format DD.MM.YYYY HH:MM. The time must not be in the past.
“Your plan doesn’t allow more scheduled events at once” – what now?#
Cancel a scheduled event or switch plans.
Why doesn't a Discord event appear?#
yurna needs the Manage Events permission. The sign-up message still works.
Why isn't the role assigned?#
yurna needs Manage Roles, and yurna's role must be above the event role.
Why doesn't someone get a reminder?#
The member doesn't accept DMs from server members.
