Event logs: post events to Discord channels
Choose which events yurna posts to which channel – from deleted messages to changes made in the dashboard.
With event logs, yurna posts selected events as messages to a channel of your choice. Your team sees right in Discord when, for example, a message is deleted, someone joins or a role is changed. You can set a separate channel for every event.
Event logs complement the server log: the server log is always on and shows everything in the dashboard, while event logs additionally send selected events to Discord.
In the dashboard#
How to set it up#
- Create one or more log channels only your team can see, and allow yurna to view and send messages there.
- Open Moderation & safety → Logs → Event logs (
/dashboard/<server>/logs). You can also reach the page via the Event logs tab in the server log. - For each event you want, turn on Enabled and choose the Channel. An event can’t be enabled without a channel.
- Save. As long as there are unsaved changes, the page reminds you.
Each category shows how many events are active (“3 of 8 active”).
Categories#
- Invites – invite created or deleted
- Messages – sent, deleted, edited, bulk deleted, poll votes
- Threads – created, deleted, updated, thread members
- Server & members – joins, leaves, bans, member and server changes, roles, emojis, stickers, scheduled events, integrations
- Channels – created, deleted, updated, pinned messages
- AutoMod – “AutoMod took action” and AutoMod rules created, updated or deleted
- yurna dashboard – changes made via the dashboard, e.g. commands turned on or off, embed color, public dashboard, vanity URL, giveaways, welcome and goodbye messages, reputation, warnings
Note
yurna only stores message content in the server log if Message deleted or Message edited is turned on here.
Change log#
Who changed what in the dashboard is shown on the Change log tab (/dashboard/<server>/dashboard-logs) – with time, person and, where stored, before/after. More under Change log.
By command#
Everything on the page also works with /logs. You need "Manage Server". You switch either a single event (event) or a whole group (group).
| Command | What it does | Important options |
|---|---|---|
/logs set | turns events on | group: all, messages, members, moderation, roles, channels, server, invites or self roles; event: a single event (Discord suggests matching ones); channel: log channel; destination: server log only, channel only or both |
/logs disable | turns events off | group or event as with set |
/logs list | shows which events are on and where they go | – |
/logs serverlog | shows the server log in chat, newest first | category, type, user, page |
/logs view | shows the change log (who changed what), 20 per page, newest first | page: which page |
If you leave out channel, the current channel stays. yurna also needs the “Manage Server” permission for /logs view.
Common questions#
Why does nothing arrive in the channel?#
Check that the event is enabled and saved, and that yurna can view and write in the channel.
My log channel is flooded with messages – what now?#
Events like “Message sent” produce a lot of entries on active servers. Only enable what your team actually reads – everything else is in the server log anyway.
Can I send different events to different channels?#
Yes. Pick a separate channel per event in the dashboard, or run /logs set several times with different event and channel values.
What’s the difference to the server log?#
The server log always collects everything and shows it in the dashboard. Event logs only send what you select to a Discord channel as well.
