Starboard

Posts with enough reactions land in a hall-of-fame channel automatically – with a live counter.

SetupMessages

A starboard is a hall-of-fame channel for your server's best posts. Great messages no longer get lost in the chat. When a message gets enough reactions with a certain emoji (⭐ by default), yurna mirrors it to the target channel. The counter on the entry updates with every reaction, and if the count drops below the threshold again, the entry disappears.

In the dashboard#

  1. Create a channel for the entries in Discord, for example #hall-of-fame. yurna needs to be able to send messages and embed links there.
  2. Open Community & events → Starboard and click New starboard.
  3. Enter a name and pick the emoji (a single emoji or a server emoji).
  4. Set the threshold: how many reactions a post needs.
  5. Choose the target channel. This is optional – without a channel the board collects Web only.
  6. Optional: limit the source channels and decide whether the author's own reaction counts.
  7. Save. The preview shows what an entry looks like.

View board lets you read all entries of a board in the dashboard. If you add a target channel later, Post earlier entries posts everything collected so far to the channel – oldest first.

Settings#

  • Emoji: which reaction is counted, ⭐ by default.
  • Threshold: 1 to 100 reactions, 3 by default.
  • Target channel: entries appear here. Messages in this channel itself don't count. Without a target channel, yurna only stores entries in the dashboard.
  • Source channels: empty = all channels (up to 50 can be selected). Threads count via their channel.
  • Own reaction counts: off – if the author reacts themselves, it doesn't count. Bots never count.
  • Active: when off, everything stays, but new reactions aren't counted.

You can create up to 5 starboards per server – on every plan, for example one with ⭐ for funny posts and one with a custom emoji for artwork.

Note

Posts from NSFW channels only go to a starboard whose target channel is NSFW itself.

Below the boards, the page shows the most popular posts with the most reactions across all starboards, each with a link to the message.

Deleting#

Deleting a starboard removes the board and its counters. Entries already posted in the Discord channel stay there.

By command#

Manage starboards with /community starboard. You need Manage Server.

CommandWhat it doesImportant options
/community starboard createCreates a boardchannel (target channel), name, emoji (default ⭐), threshold (1–100, default 3), sources (source channels as mentions, empty or - = all), count-self, enabled, no-channel (no target channel – collect on the web only)
/community starboard editChanges a boardboard plus every field of create; omitted fields stay, sources:- = all channels again

/community starboard listLists all boards–
/community starboard backfillPosts earlier entries to the target channel – like Post earlier entries in the dashboard, rate-limitedboard

For board, Discord suggests your boards.

Common questions#

Why does nothing appear in the target channel?#

Check that the board is active, that the message is in one of the source channels, that a target channel is set and that yurna can post there.

Why doesn't the author's own reaction count?#

That's the default. Turn on Own reaction counts if you want it.

Why did an entry disappear?#

Reactions were removed and the count is below the threshold again.

Does a starboard cost anything?#

No. Up to 5 boards are included on every plan.
