Suggestions
A channel for your community's ideas – with voting, a thread per suggestion and a response from the team.
Suggestions give your community its own channel for ideas. You quickly see what your members want. Every message there becomes a numbered suggestion with 👍/👎 voting and its own discussion thread. Your team sets the status – such as "Accepted" or "Implemented" – and can add a response.
Note
Not the same as /suggestion: that command sends feedback to the yurna team. This feature is about suggestions for your own server.
In the dashboard#
- Create a text channel in Discord, for example
#suggestions. - Give yurna these permissions there: Send Messages, Embed Links, Manage Messages and Create Public Threads.
- Open Community & events → Suggestions.
- Under Suggestion channel, pick the channel and set the cooldown in minutes (15 by default, 0 = off).
- Click Set up suggestions. Later you save changes with Save channel.
- Switch suggestions on or off at the top right.
Below that you'll find:
- Key figures: open (and how many are under review), accepted, implemented and declined suggestions.
- All suggestions, newest first, with votes and status; filterable by status.
- Set status: pick a new status, optionally write a response to the community (up to 1,000 characters) and use Post in the thread to have the new status and response posted in the thread.
- Open in Discord jumps straight to the suggestion.
How a suggestion works#
- A member simply writes their idea in the channel (at least 5, at most 2,000 characters; one image up to 8 MB is carried over).
- yurna turns it into "Suggestion #N" with 👍/👎 buttons and a thread. The original message is removed to keep the channel tidy.
- Members vote with the buttons. Clicking the same button again withdraws the vote.
- The team sets the status – via the Team button on the suggestion or in the dashboard. The embed's color and status update along.
Between two suggestions, a member has to wait for the cooldown. Your team (Manage Messages) is exempt.

By command#
Set up the suggestions channel with /community suggestions. You need Manage Server. Without options the command shows the current state; options you leave out stay unchanged.
| Command | What it does | Important options |
|---|---|---|
/community suggestions | Sets up or changes the suggestions channel (one per server) | channel, name, cooldown (minutes between two suggestions, 0 = off, up to 1,440), enabled |
/suggestion | Opens a form and sends a suggestion to the yurna team – not to your server | – |
