Dashboard and bot language

yurna speaks German and English. Here's how to switch the dashboard language and choose the language the bot uses on your server.

SetupDashboard

yurna is available in German and English. The dashboard and the bot decide independently: everyone picks their own dashboard language, while the bot's language on your server is set in the server settings.

Changing the dashboard language#

  1. Click the globe icon with the language code (e.g. EN) at the top right of the header. On a phone, the language picker sits at the bottom of the sidebar.
  2. Choose English or Deutsch.
  3. The page reloads in the language you picked.

When you're signed in, yurna stores your choice in your account, so the dashboard opens in your language on other devices too.

The bot's language on your server#

Under Dashboard → Server → Settings → Bot language you choose the language yurna writes in on your server. Clicking a language saves it right away.

  • Messages for everyone – logs, panels, welcome messages, announcements and audit log reasons – use this server language.
  • Replies only one person sees (for example to a command, error messages, assistants or direct messages) use the language that person picked for themselves – see below. Without a choice, yurna replies in English.
  • Commands are always named in English in Discord, including their descriptions in the command picker.

If you haven't picked a language yet, yurna writes in English on your server, and the dashboard points this out. yurna doesn't take over the language from the Discord server settings. Every change is recorded in the changelog.

Note

Texts you write yourself – welcome messages, panel texts or embeds – are sent exactly as you entered them. They aren't translated.

Your language for yurna replies#

Under Profile → Language for yurna replies you choose the language yurna uses when it replies to you personally: Automatic (English), English or Deutsch. Picking a language at the top of the dashboard sets it too. Automatic resets it.

Your Discord account's language doesn't matter for this.

Common problems#

  • yurna replies in English although my Discord is set to German: Personal replies only follow your choice in your profile (or the dashboard's language menu). Without a choice, yurna replies in English.
  • Channel messages arrive in the wrong language: Check Settings → Bot language in the dashboard.

By command#

/server language <language> sets yurna's language on the server – just like the dashboard setting. You need "Manage Server" for it.
